Will Afghanistan learn that cross-dressers are not criminals? | Nushin Arbabzadah

Video

intimidation by the police of a transvestite exposed an ugly side of Afghan culture - but the human voices are a source of hope

"Take off your chador," Afghan police orders a transvestite in a video that was shared in the endless social networking Web sites.

"Take off your wig!" Under the glossy black locks, the man reveals himself as the head back, very short hair.

He also wore a red short-sleeved shalwar kameez - clothing

sexy women, but traditional. The female gaze is accentuated by the large glow bracelets and see through embroidery.

evidence of the victim continues for what seems an eternity while maintaining the humiliating laughter and comments from the police.

"Please have mercy, do not tease me," she whispers.

"Boy! Front of the camera," he cried, forcing him to remove the fake breasts from the inside of his superior. The breasts become a pair of socks filled with pasta.

"mass to make the breasts soft, soft," one officer shouted, laughing. Female cross-dressing is sufficiently known by the locals in Afghanistan, have invented a special term. The word is

Ezaki

- a vague name, but deeply derogatory reference to anything from a eunuch or hermaphrodite, a transvestite or a homosexual

After the discovery of the mass, a series of questions is in the video. "Why are you dressed like that? Where did you put your makeup? What is it? What have you done? "

This last question is directed to a shy young man looks away, but standing next to the transvestite. The two were arrested together. "I was shopping for clothes," whispers the cross dresser, remove the bracelets. He tries to tell the police that her dress is just a silly game, innocent.

"Put the cuffs back," an official order from the police. The victim reluctantly obeyed, his eyes filled with tears.

"Please, officer, we have not committed a crime," said the companion of the victim away from the camera.

Like most of the Afghan Red note that spreads online, the video gives no information on date, source or destination of the victim after his arrest. The clip made the rounds, creating a lively debate before the people tired of him.

political paranoia among themselves, with some viewers suspect that the transvestite was actually a suicide bomber trained by the Pakistani ISI to infiltrate Kabul disguised as a woman.

There was also a more sober reaction, with commentators criticize the police for wasting time on trivial incidents, while the threat of terrorism is very real. Some comments interpreted the disguise, as a sign of cultural anarchy, a symbol of Afghans out of the way of Islam.
A couple of people demanded the transvestite should be executed, while others said that despite the transvestite was wrong, I still felt sorry for him.
