Ally McCoist begins to feel the heat at Rangers after Old Firm setback | Ewan Murray
defeat for Celtic and the award of first place in the SPL has left the Rangers this year face a new and potentially worrisome
McCoistAllied response was as immediate as it seemed sincere. During an episode that saw the Rangers stretch lead over Celtic in Scottish Premier League, the Ibrox club's manager asked if he felt he had broken training lark quickly. Instead of the agreement, said McCoist European Malmö and Maribor defeats during his first weeks in office served as a painful reminder that he had learned nothing. At that time, the advantage of Rangers in the SPL championship race was such that many had a fourth title in the line as a fatality.
McCoist has now lost in the second Old Firm game of the season and the award of the league position that most of the problems is rising a new year. And what is striking in the wake of the negativity of Celtic win 1-0 is shown a support element for the Rangers director.
Celtic victory Wednesday night was won by the second half of the screen in a tight encounter. Therefore, it would be an exaggeration to suggest total control of the team of Neil Lennon, or something like the Rangers have played a role in the crisis. In the first half, in particular, performed at a level higher than most observers had predicted he could do
McCoistdeployed one end and two at the front, a bold move was in the habit of his predecessor, Walter Smith, Glasgow derbies do away from home. McCoist has selected Old Firm team on the defensive and lost the match - as would be perfectly possible to -. It would have been punished with a negative outlook
common criticism of senior management after the defeat is the lack of tactical knowledge and the ability to change games. It seems logical that McCoist has been involved in football long enough to understand the tactics, the second argument, a look at a list of alternative Rangers dull routine highlights the difficulty of the task manager is
McCoist, of course, is not without flaws. It seems reasonable to assume that was contained by Juan Ortiz, Alejandro Bedoya and Matt McKay for the club this summer. The trio allegedly attacked Ibrox to provide leadership, categorically failed to impress.
McCoist was powerless, as the influential Steven Naismith has been battered by a severe injury. However, the manager must take responsibility for the irregular shape of their captain Steven Davis. The common accusation against the Rangers is that they have spent heavily in the development of his current team. In relative terms, this is true, but also precedes land McCoist, new employment contracts Allan McGregor, Davis and Steven Whittaker side.
- What seems also clear is that the Celtic group has the most value in Scotland. Adam Matthews, Emilio Izaguirre, Beram Kayal, Victor Wanyama, James Forrest, Ki Sung Yueng and Gary Hooper are a group of players from Lennon with a high market value.
McCoist primary danger is that it could close its most valuable asset, Nikica Jelavic to England next month. If Croatia is sold, the focus returns to the financial point of view in which the owner of the Rangers, Craig Whyte, wants his club to operate in the foreseeable future.
