Multi-National

will look behind the scenes at Formula 2011 students, future engineers, where Australia will test racing cars designed and built in Gaza

as extracurricular activities go, it's a challenge to students in a handful of UK universities spend time designing, financing and construction of a single-seater racing car to compete with the creation of universities around the world Silverstone. Representatives of many multinational companies will be watching in the wings, hoping to find the best of the next generation of engineers.

Formula Student UK is the largest student motorsport event which aims to inspire and develop engineering talent around the world. This month, 125 student teams from Australia to the Gaza Strip have accepted the challenge of building a prototype for evaluation by a manufacturer of imagination. Contestants will be judged on the strength of its design, cost-effective business presentations, the powers of the environment and the speed and force of your vehicle.

"Judges are more interested in what students know and how they did the design rather than how much we spent in the car," said President Jon Hilton Formula Student. "If they can not explain how he did not go very far."

For those who meet the qualifications, experience could guarantee a career. One third of the computer 35 at the University of Brunel were offered jobs, some of the stature of the Virgin of the Maclaren F1, on the strength of their efforts. "I learned an exceptional amount," said the director of the design team, James Spencer, who began working with Jaguar and Land Rover when she graduates this summer. "The motorsport industry is generally a very quiet but the competition, shares his knowledge and help others. "

far, a British team has not won the competition, in part because some students - graduate courses often last longer - have made several previous competitions, while the Most British students not to administer more than two. However, experience and exposure is as valuable as the price.

"It gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their technical design, engineering, manufacturing and skills and learn important lessons about teamwork, time management, management project budgeting and reporting: all things that any prospective employer will be sought, "says Hilton. "On the other hand, companies that are involved with FS, as a partner or sponsor, having personal contact with these young highly qualified engineers, all potential recruits and business contacts to come."
