midfielder desperate to play in the Champions League again

Daniel Levy warned that Chelsea Luka Modric is not for sale "at any price" to any club, despite the midfielder stating that he wants to go to Stamford Bridge . Modric comments came two days after Tottenham rejected the offer of 22 million pounds of Chelsea, but the president of the Spurs, is adamant the Croatian rest.

In a statement which appears to leave little room for maneuver, Levy also pointed out to Chelsea to announce his interest in the midfielder, who is widely regarded as the best player in Tottenham and raised the interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.

"I want to make it absolutely clear, as I said before, none of our key players will be sold this summer," said Levy. "We are building a team for the future play consistently at the highest level and retain quality players is essential for this.

"As for Luka Modric, who are not willing to sell at any price, Chelsea or any other club. We made our position very clear on this issue by writing to Chelsea. They chose to ignore, then later made a public offer. "

However, Chelsea denied having disclosed details of its bid for Modric on Saturday, Levy said the brand "nonsense".

Harry Redknapp

supported the position of its President, but also warned that Levy Modric Tottenham ridiculous risk if sold today.

"The president made a statement," said Tottenham manager Talksport. "It can not reverse it means that -. I know it means it will not Luka

..

"Daniel made this statement -". How useful to hear what he says "you can not go sell it and suddenly everyone is going to go, it's a happy thing to have a player like Luka Modric. It is sold, it ' is what the President said and that's good enough for me. It is not easy to keep a player who is not happy, but the president has said we will not sell what we have to be for now. You can not say that and then sell.

"It's a great player for us, do not want to lose. 'S a good guy, Guy first class and of course the head was turned a little to the fact that he is wanted by all the clubs and you could probably go to a big contract.

"It's difficult, but certainly not want to lose. Daniel made the statement and I am sure he is determined to stick with what you said."
However at White Hart Lane, there may be an acceptance that it will be difficult to keep hold of Modric, who joined Tottenham from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008, has already expressed his desire to leave. Moreover, while the Spurs have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, below in its attempt to qualify for the competition next season, finishing only fifth in the Premier League.
