Championship 2011-12: the bloggers' half-term report
People who really know their clubs give us the truth about the championship season so far
Barnsley
How is everything?
negative soothsayers predicted that it would be wrong and called to this day has been proven correct. Barnsley is not meat and not decline this season. Take care to temper my opinion, for a mid-season and is not based on the results of November and December, the duo management "Hillcroft" began to see their football project materialize on the ground. Barnsley have the potential to further improve. High rate of possession football is the order of the day in Oakwell. We get excellent results at home and on the way through the hard work and ethics of the rival team.
Who was the star Jacob Butterfield has matured this season. Youngest ever captain of Barnsley and specialist shooting high. Grand disappointment?
My biggest disappointment was the decline in attendance at Oakwell against average last season (up to about 2000). Away supporters are absent for a period of incredible football.

Well the good news is that we are not in the administration? We had some good times in Europe and the factor of well-being is that the entire floor. The bad news is that the administration remains a real possibility, the European dream is over and person (including the media) know what the hell is going on with Carson Yeung. Hopefully the club will be able to move a couple more players in the window and keep the wolf from the door.
Who was the star
Without a doubt, Chris Hughton. In a period of five months that has made the attacking team again and enjoy football fans again, and restored the hope that things can improve. greatest disappointment? Nikola Zigic. I expected the great man to really show some of his skills before the sale in January inevitable, but it was only in flashes and when you pay someone £ 50,000 a week you need more than flashes of brilliance.

How is everything? incompatible is the best way to summarize our first half of the season. Summer signings are still in bed and Ian Holloway had to wind down his team big enough. While doing this added quality loan market. The dedications of Jonjo Shelvey and Callum McManaman came as it appeared flashy and drop procedure. It's a shame it will not be at the club for the rest of the season.
We are almost at the same track as last time we were in the championship. This is the end-expiratory high and there are many opportunities that we can do the same thing. Transfer of activity in the coming months will be critical - if we can bring to good effect furtively final play-off spot. No contract will be settled well in the middle of the pack.
Who was the star?
Matthew Gilks ??has been fantastic. He started the season looking light and strong. His consistency has been exemplary and saves his impressive ability to reach continues to surprise.
greatest disappointment?
following the loss of Burnley was a disappointment on some levels. Losing a rival was disappointing, but the way it does in this game was disturbing. Holloway chopped and changed during the game, our form was poor and it felt like the side started to go back. Fortunately, there have been a turning point in the season.

How is everything?
Brightonsit ninth in the table, three points outside the play-offs. Each party would be delighted recently promoted to the position for Christmas and are no different. Heavy investments in and out of the field raised expectations, but our feet are firmly planted on the ground. After a blistering start (five wins in their first six games) of the nine games without a win a streak that followed was a harsh reality check. With the move behind us, we will be in order to stay in the top half of the table - an inclination for the playoffs is not out of range
Who was the star? Brighton born Dunk Lewis was a revelation. A strong central defender fast and elegant, classy performance earned him a call to England Under-21 in November.
greatest disappointment? The 3-1 home defeat against rivals Crystal Palace, with three goals against awarded in the last 10 minutes. Frisson.

How is everything? We are in a battle of descent, which is bad, but it seems capable of winning, which is as much as we can expect. A bad start to the season, confidence shaken, resulting in a 5-0 boneless invest in Blackpool, which was Keith Millen his job. Derek McInnes new boss has taken the side back to basics, making us hard to beat and the concentration of attacks across our stores more efficient. A good run of results that led us out of the relegation places, but we are far from clear and the form began to slip again. There is no reason to relax yet.
Who was the star
Albert Adomah. It is fair to say that consistency problems, but its better coverage of the new Ghana is one of the most dangerous players in the division, with pace, control and final product.
greatest disappointment? Keith Millen. He did a really good job last season and seemed ready to go - but seems unable to see, let alone to deal with very basic problems in the team, leaving his successor a disjointed group of bad players
Grade . McInnes has had an impact, but the team needs to be much better.

Burnley
How is everything? was very irregular, ranging in lots of wins, but then run defeats. We showed a few puffs of a very good job, but too often take bad results. But it's a young team, so it will only improve if Eddie Howe gets time, money and patience. Most fans understand that it is difficult with financial constraints imposed by the Council, but we are well placed to put in the new year. We have to finish in the first half, but it is not dependent on the sale or Charlie Austin Jay Rodriguez and the addition of a couple of players in the defense and midfield.
Who was the star? Marvin Bartley has shown the most progress - last season was a red card waiting to happen, but this year has shown the drive, energy and deal with a thundering at the center of the park " / AA> biggest disappointment The boys signed for West Ham - Zavon Hines and Junior Stanislas - was a disappointment. Although he enjoyed a season high on the side, have not shown enough to win a state.

to be a challenge for automatic promotion places and Carling Cup semi-final at this point is far beyond the expectations of even the most optimistic fans of Cardiff City, but shows the Mackay Malky revolution with no signs of stopping. No more ego players last season, and instead of a team working their socks and play for the jersey, which is what we want. City fans are loving life and never expect a promotion or a Cup final. They are enjoying the trip without the weight of expectations.
Who was the star
Peter Whittingham said again, but the real success is due to the hardness of the team at along each other and not as individuals. Mackay has great merit for all the hard work too, though.
greatest disappointment? really I can not find one negative so far is a good time to be a fan of Cardiff City

pretty bad. Although he did not expect to settle on the league, many thought that if we changed some of the players out, we were able to continue playing Andy Thorn. The replacements never arrived, and the tone of the season was established from the outset as one of what they do. Thorn idealizes a passing game, but it lacks the personnel to implement with conviction that truth. Rarely beaten, but without causing much pain to be attacked, we ran out of clinical and tried to convert winning positions in the points. Most of the fans to see the owners as the main culprits, leaving the bottom and a battle that is looking increasingly futile.
Who was the star?
Despite our lack of goals, Lukas Jutkiewicz was a pillar of the markers table this season and it is certainly doing its part. greatest disappointment? The final fall of the table at the beginning of December was a psychological shock, and we are still waiting (and praying) that can be recovered.

Crystal PalaceHow is everything?
If you have been told that most of the fans who come to Palace from 2012 to his side would be in the middle of the table, preparing for the semi-finals of the League Cup, and won at Old Trafford, I would have given his right arm and probably most of his torso. There are things that work, like going a month without scoring, but in general, progress has demonstrated over the last 18 months is something we are proud.Who was the star?
Glenn Murray palace was already a legend when he decided to stop his rivals from Brighton on a free transfer and move south of London, but goals against gulls, Manchester United and West Ham have solidified its status as a cult hero.greatest disappointment? Australian and international

The season was a mixture, a great run of victories and defeats a desperate race. However, they were not as good or as bad as each proposed implementation, half of the table is about right for what we did. Unlike last season, we have good players back from injury and better performance in the second half, a top eight finish is a realistic goal. A big advantage for us was the emergence of several young players like Mark O'Brien, Jeff Hendrick, Callum Ball Mason and Bennett, which bodes well for the future.Who was the star? hard to call Jamie Ward, but no doubt, if only for his goal in the forest. more disappointment

From that contributed to the season of the Guardians overview Rovers went through a midlife crisis. A stable, however, if admired, brought us thus far have been distributed and roared into the unknown on a motorcycle without a helmet. A new director whose main virtue is the "enthusiasm" and an embrace of new talent in the short term led to a combination of decent results and performances painfully disconnected. January is likely to announce the departure of a number of players from many years of service. Which way that puts the club in the rest of the season is open to interpretation, but it seems likely that we will not use this helmet on the street.
Who was the star Billy Sharp is that the attacker cartoon all dreamed of being the star on top of the formation of Christmas tree and continues goals at will. The touchingly humble and honest in which they treated the personal tragedy in October does not improve its position and reflects what a shame it will be when, inevitably, go ahead.
greatest disappointment? The way Sean O'Driscoll dismissal orchestrated and performed. Harm to begin has not yet been fully reached the conclusion that the case was ugly and bad and a terrible way to treat a man who had done so much for the club and its reputation during his tenure.

How is everything? Nick Barmby Tigers are very different from Nigel Pearson Tigers, but the two versions of the appearance of the city as the play-off contenders. The emphasis of our former manager was in a miserable defense, so often wins 1-0 and Pearson were there was enough variety of them to establish ourselves as a top-six before he defected in Leicester. We remain as low Barmby local hero, but the philosophy of training is different. Barmby is less catenaccio style and tiki-taka, since we are also giving more to score more. Tiger Entertainment has increased local content in the medium.
