. Neville Southall
joined the criticism of Team GB Craig Brown believes that the creation of Team GB for the Olympics next year in London has jeopardized the future of Scotland's national side. Those involved with Wales and Northern Ireland Football Associations, former Scotland manager, is horrified at the birth of the concept of Team GB has recently ratified and urged his countrymen to reject any invitation to join thereof. "Will you put the possibility of other players to play for Scotland at risk of being selfish and play?" Said Mr. Brown, now the management of Aberdeen. "If you can not stop being a Scottish team. I have no doubt that we should not participate. I'd rather lose than win over Scotland in Britain." Their fears contradicts the repeated assurances from FIFA, world football's governing body of government, individual autonomy of the four home nations will not be compromised by their single "point" participation Olympics.- aa
- While Stewart Regan, chief executive of the SFA, said that sanctions be taken against any Scottish player who chose to participate - and legally, three FAS have no right to block their players - Brown continued to express their concerns about what many perceive as a dangerous precedent.
for Neville Southall, former Wales goalkeeper, the idea of ??merging players from four countries amounts to heresy. "The point of going to the Olympics, it's that special moment when the flag goes up," said Southall.
"What flag is going to do if Britain football team victories Union Jack Well, not my flag, my flag is a dragon, I do not see the point of a team Go to -?. all you have lost your identity. "
Meanwhile, the British Olympic Association has refused to ratify his decision to Team GB in London 2012 is a ploy to try to divert 1.7 million unsold tickets Olympic Football. Andy Hunt, chief executive of the BOA, said: "There is absolutely no connection between the time of the announcement and ticket sales."
