Dear Professor, I think my husband may be a Neanderthal

An evolutionary geneticist

mail bag reveals how biased our perception of Neanderthals are cousins ??

In May 2010, biologists have given the news that our ancestors of modern man has had sex with his cousins ??the Neanderthals in Europe and western Asia as they came out of Africa to colonize the world.

Many of us who live outside Africa today are a living legacy of the old couplings. Although modern humans, more or less replaced the Neanderthals, the encounters left a mark on our genetic makeup. We carry in our cells a little Neanderthal DNA.

But there are people out there who suspect they are a little Neanderthal research suggests. If it's not you, it's someone close to them, which behaves in a vague way inhuman.

The revelation came during a dramatic speech this week by Svante Pääbo at the Society for Neuroscience in Washington DC. Professor Pääbo is the head of genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, and led the team that created the draft sequence of the Neanderthal genome. Comparison evidence for mixing wine Neanderthal genome with that of modern humans.

Pääbo is careful a scientist and knows very well that there could be several explanations for this difference between men and women. "You could say, well, women were not paying attention [to research]," he told a room captivated thousands of neuroscientists.

However, the following point Pääbo published data showed that this was probably the case. Twelve women were exposed to declare that their husbands were Neanderthals. Some of them have offered their spouses for future study.

Only two men have written to say the same of their women.
As a diversion, a complete and thorough tour of the genetics of ancient DNA, the contents of the mail bag Pääbo provide some relief very timely in his speech. But speaking later, the researcher said that the correspondence could reflect our stereotypes of our closest relatives missing. "He said something about how we see the Neanderthals," Pääbo told the Guardian.
