OK, computer: could soundtracking games be the future for bands?

As video games to sell more CDs, artists like Paul McCartney and country are lining up to write for them

here to talk about video games. Not the Lana Del Rey song, but today's video games, or more specifically, music that sounds. It has long been the artistic credibility in the creation of game scores, and a turnover beyond the film is a tantalizing prospect for musicians looking to make lucrative business synchronization.

In 2010 Joris de Man - not a big name in the tables, perhaps, but at the forefront of music games - became the first composer to win the Ivor Novello Award twenty games. But recently these tapes appear to have increased at a higher speed. The most recognizable names began to create original music for games. Last year, the National Portal 2 write sublime exile for defamation. The third installment of Max Payne, currently at No. 1 in the game in the UK, has seen the work of noiseniks Health on the soundtrack with Rockstar Games.

Even Paul McCartney is apparently working on one, saying that it is easier to make money through games albums. "These days a new computer game sold much better than a CD. And you get to a completely different target group." (His favorite game is apparently on the SNES Pilotwings - also praised the game's composer Soyo Oka.)
